“ If I could give 6 stars, I would without question. Words cannot express how excited my boyfriend and I were when we found this place. Every tiny detail of this place is INCREDIBLE. Not very often do you find a bar like this!! We live 4 hours away and will be planning future trips JUST for Planet of the Tapes. Locals can rent movies from their extensive library of DVD's or come to kick back and watch a movie, catch a comedy show or play some trivia. The staff was wonderful. So friendly and welcoming. Table service makes for a relaxing experience. And their themed drinks are spot on. This place is truly heaven on earth. ”

“ We had a great night on our first visit to Planet of the Tapes. We ordered a pizza from Mile Wide;walked over, picked it up and brought it back. Watched a hilarious comedy show, then they played the movie Candyman on their movie sized projector screen. It was a fun and unique night out. We’ll definitely be back soon. ”
“ Fantastic cocktails and bottled beers. This place is inclusive, divey and nostalgic as hell. If you’re anything besides normal you will find a home at this beautifully weird gem. Its almost daily event schedule will have you enjoying nationally renowned comedy acts, horror movies, open mics or smoking area conversations. If you have a night free in Louisville check out their website. I’ve never gotten the food which is available from next door. My favorite cocktail is the Yoo-hoo one. ”
“ Great place! Went there 4-9-23 and they were having an Ash Vs. Evil dead movie marathon with popcorn provided. There was also food provided by Fright Bites and trivia with an Easter egg hunt. Everyone I encountered was friendly from the patrons to staff. Will be back. ”
“ I always love coming here - bar staff is super quick and friendly and the events they host are some of the best, most varied in the city. As a movie themed bar that also does comedy shows, trivia nights, concerts and film screenings, we're ridiculously lucky to have this venue here. ”
“ Went here after a show at Old Forester’s Paristown Hall on July 3rd and to my surprise they were doing a screening of Return of the Living Dead! The film takes place on July 3rd in Louisville and it didn’t cross my mind until I went in. They had a lively crowd of regulars quoting the movie, a guy in a Tarman costume for photo ops. It was a one of a kind experience and I’m so glad I stumbled upon it. As far as service they are wonderful and great prices on snacks and beer. I won’t spoil the snack presentation for you, but it’s truly unique and will come back anytime I’m in Louisville. ”
“ listen to me - Planet of the Tapes is the greatest place in the known universe and it deserves your attention. it is the roadhouse from twin peaks come to life. they are building something truly special in Louisville and you should take one night out of your week to go to a trivia, comedy, or band show, or just to see a movie with friends. they even have some great non-alcoholic options and i don't think they get enough credit for their menu. ”
